- Inspection for existing cracks, spalling, or open mortar joints (repaired before sealing)
- Dry brush and clean all exterior masonry surfaces
- Apply professional-grade, vapor-permeable penetrating waterproof sealer
- Second coat applied while first coat is still wet for maximum penetration
- Inspection of crown, flashing, and cap at the same visit
Chimneys expel combustion gases that contain moisture. A sealer that traps this vapor can cause serious spalling damage from inside the masonry. We only use breathable, penetrating formulations that block rain while allowing moisture vapor to escape safely.
